I have driven high end cars all of my life and my Sorento is one of the absolute best I have ever owned. Fit and finish, inside and out, is perfect, and gas mileage has exceeded, by far, what I was told to expect. I feel sorry for those consumers whose egos won't let them own a Kia. The are missing out on owning a very high quality car…
Our Second Sorento

Purchased a 2018 Sorento SX-L in January 2018. We looked at a variety of midsize crossovers and seriously considered the Ford Edge, Toyota Highlander, and Mazda CX-9 before trading our 2012 Sorento. Several factors went into our decision.
An important factor was our 70K plus trouble free miles in our 2012 Sorento. Never so much as a single "check engine" light nor any other issue. Like most Kia owners (as reported in Consumer Reports) we found the Sorento to be ultra-reliable. Along with the superior warranties offered by Kia, it gave us confidence in the 2018 model.
Otherwise, the size of the Sorento was a major point in its favor. Its overall length is virtually the same as the Ford Edge but the KIA has usable third row seating while the Edge does not. It is almost a foot shorter than the CX-9 but has more passenger and cargo room! In short, for our mission (suburban traffic and people hauling) the Sorento is better suited and more maneuverable than the other crossovers we considered.
We chose the top trim of the Sorento, the SX-L. We found it superior to the top trims of the Highlander and Edge and at least equal to that of the Signature trim of the CX-9. (The Sorento has a panoramic sunroof and third row HVAC controls; the CX-9 does not.)
In terms of overall performance the Ford Edge Sport with a turbo V6 was a clear winner. If 0-60 time had been a priority the Ford would have had an "edge." (Sorry.)
The others we considered were virtually identical. But the Sorento and Highlander have naturally aspirated V6 engines compared to the turbo 4 of the Mazda and the Ford's turbo V6. Turbocharging is an appealing technology in terms of performance but in terms of long-term reliability and smooth, quiet operation naturally aspirated V6 engines are simply better.
After 10,000 miles we're extremely satisfied with the Sorento. Trouble free, comfortable, feature rich, and maneuverable in the jungle of suburban traffic and parking lots, it's all we could ask for.…
Tough to start in the cold weather

I bought my car in September on 2018 . Since then I have had problems starting it twice. Both times I had it checked at the local kia service center and both times they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I was without my car for 3 days this last time. I called Kia headquarters and they don't seem to be interested in remedying the problem.…
